‘서울 왕궁수문장 교대의식’ is a flagship traditional culture reenactment event hosted by Seoul that vividly brings back the guard change ceremony of the palace gate guards from the Joseon Dynasty. The su문장 was a sixth-rank government post, and together with the chamha and the palace guards under 수문장청, they guarded the palace gate, controlled entry and exit, and carried out patrols. The ceremony is based on historical records and unfolds around 덕수궁 in the late Joseon period. The event is held six days a week, except Mondays, at 11:00 and 2:00 in front of 대한문 at 덕수궁.
