DMZ OPEN Festival is Gyeonggi-do's flagship multi-genre cultural event, offering diverse ways—through art, academia, sports, and more—to directly experience the Demilitarized Zone's profound peace, ecological, and historical values. Beyond viewing the DMZ as a place of division, it reframes the zone's preserved ecosystem, historical significance, and potential for coexistence through contemporary cultural expression. The "OPEN" concept transforms the once-closed DMZ into a shared space. Rather than a single event, the festival unfolds over time with programs across multiple genres, inviting you to walk, listen, see, and reflect on the DMZ while experiencing its peace and historical weight within an interconnected narrative.
