The traditional cultural events including the Namsan Bongsu Ceremony are a Seoul Metropolitan Government project that recreates Joseon-era communication methods to introduce Korea’s unique traditional culture to citizens and domestic and international visitors and offer opportunities to enjoy it. Namsan Bongsudae was an important communication system in the Joseon Dynasty, where signals from beacon towers across the country were gathered and the situation was reported to the capital. At Namsan Bongsudae, you can watch the Namsan Bongsu Ceremony and listen to historical explanations. In addition, the Bosingak Citizen Regular Bell-Ringing Event, which rings the bell at noon every day, is a participatory event for citizens and visitors. You can also watch samulnori performances and demonstrations of traditional martial arts at the Octagonal Pavilion Plaza of Seoul N Tower. There are also hands-on programs such as a one-day Gyeongjeonggwan experience and a one-day bongsu-ggun experience.
