The 2026 Year of Visiting the Islands shines a new light on the ecological and cultural assets of Korea’s islands and moves Korea forward as a leading island tourism nation that draws global attention. In particular, 2026 is linked with the '2026 Yeosu World Island Expo', the world’s first expo themed around islands, bringing even richer sights and experiences. The excitement of the expo will spread to islands nationwide, and through diverse programs held throughout 2026, from travel-expense support promotions to cultural week events, you can experience the true rest and fresh energy that the islands offer.
