Hot to Hot 🔥 - Minho and Friends' Adorable Challenge

What happened

A video on the SHINee channel titled 핫투핫 (hat-tu-hat, "hot to hot") tags the Hearts2Hearts account along with Carmen, Stella and Minho, plus Make it hot hashtags. Comments on the video describe it as a Make it hot challenge with Minho, Carmen and Stella.

In the Korean comments

One comment reads, in translation, "lol Choi Minho's eyes catching fire at the start is hilarious." Another says only, in translation, "So cute at the end," and a third says, "The clamped-shut mouth is ridiculously cute." A separate comment is about hair. In translation: "Since the hair is long there's not even any sense of incongruity lol. Choi Minho's bob is so pretty..." Two more comments touch on the challenge itself. One reads, in translation, "Minho keeps filming challenges with Carmen, I love it, my favorites." Another reads, in translation, "Hope the Make it hot cutie version keeps going."

What the words mean

ㄱㅇㅇ (giyeok-ieung-ieung) is 귀여워 (gwiyeowo, "cute") typed as just its opening consonants. Read letter by letter it means nothing. It is casual chat shorthand for "cute", and one comment uses it to say "the girls" are so cute. The same comment then asks why 르멘님 (Reumen-nim) is "so baby-like lately." 르멘 (Reumen) is 카르멘 (Kareumen, Carmen) without its first syllable, and 님 (nim) is a respectful suffix. The verb ending 이심 (isim) is the honorific form of "is", attached here to 아기 (agi, "baby"). Read literally, it is a deferential question about why Carmen is a baby. In practice it is an affectionate, exaggerated exclamation that Carmen has seemed especially baby-like lately. 앙탈 (angtal) literally means fussing or willful whining to get one's way. One comment reads, in translation, "So insanely cute, what is this 앙탈 (angtal)?" There the word comes straight after "insanely cute", so it reads as a compliment for a playful, coquettish kind of fussing rather than a real tantrum. The comment does not say what the 앙탈 (angtal, playful fussing to get one's way) refers to.
