What happened

This Short from IVE's channel previews a "윶 LOG" (vlog series label) from the world tour. Its title promises a first look at a 강아지 가방 (gangaji gabang, puppy bag), but the captions supplied here begin with a 호피무늬 (hopi-munui, leopard-print) pouch. The speaker says they don't especially like leopard print, but they needed a pouch that size and bought it because it came as a two-pouch set that includes a very large one, and the pattern has since grown on them.

Why Koreans care

Two details in the captions carry more than their translation. 호피무늬 (hopi-munui) literally means "tiger-hide pattern"; it is the usual Korean word for the kind of animal print English calls leopard print. The auto-captions also have the speaker say the pattern has grown on them with 정이 든 (jeong-i deun), from 정이 들다 (jeong-i deulda, literally "affection has entered"), the phrase for coming to feel attached to something over time. The captions pair it with 보다 보니까 (boda bonikka, "as I kept looking"), so the attachment is described as coming from looking at the pattern.

In the Korean comments

A few of these comments are about one sound, 크아앙 (keu-a-ang, a roar-like sound). One reads, in translation, "When Yujin unnie goes keu-a-ang, so cute!" Here 언니 (eonni, older sister) is the affectionate form of address. Another comment uses the word 위협 (wihyeop, threat) and calls it cute. In translation: "Yujin's threat is so cute." Other comments reach for animals. One says, in translation, that the way Yujin unnie goes 헤헤 (hehe, a giggle) when laughing is "really like a 댕댕이 (daengdaengi, slang for a dog)," and calls it adorable. Another reads, in translation, "Well, this is the first time I've seen a vlog run by a puppy." Its word is 강아지 (gangaji, puppy), the same one in the title's 강아지 가방 (gangaji gabang, puppy bag), and the comment doesn't say who or what the puppy is. A different comment opens with 어흥 (eoheung, the sound Korean gives a tiger's roar) before saying it's cute.

What the words mean

댕댕이 (daengdaengi, slang for a dog) is a playful internet respelling of 멍멍이 (meongmeongi, doggy). Comparing a laugh to one, as one commenter does above, is a casual, affectionate remark. Separately, "너무 ㄱㅇㅇ" (neomu giyeok-ieung-ieung, "so cute") has no full word after 너무 (neomu, so). Those three letters are the first consonants of 귀여워 (gwiyeowo, cute), a common typing shorthand.
