What happened

This is ENHYPEN's behind-the-scenes video from filming challenges for their eighth mini album 'THE SIN: BLISS'. According to the captions, they learn and shoot the 'Bloody Paradise' challenge with ILLIT's Iroha, TWS's Kyungmin (with Jake) and &TEAM's Taki (with Sunwoo). The captions also show Jake and Kyungmin filming a 'SODA SODA' challenge, and Jeongwon practicing a 'Pop Off Pop Off' challenge that the captions tie to KiiiKiii.

Why Koreans care

The video is built around a promotion routine: each side films the other's dance challenge. The captions show ENHYPEN members practicing challenges for other artists' songs, and the guests filming the 'Bloody Paradise' challenge. At the end of one shoot, the thanks go both ways: "저희 것도 해주셔서 감사합니다" (jeohui geotdo haejusyeoseo gamsahamnida, "thank you for doing ours too"). The captions also use the shorthand "많관부" (manggwanbu). It is short for "많은 관심 부탁드립니다" (maneun gwansim butakdeurimnida, "please show lots of interest"), a standard closing request that idols make when they promote a release. Another phrase in the Sunwoo and Taki segment is "칼답" (kaldap, a very fast reply to a message). Sunwoo complains that the other person never reaches out, and the segment is captioned as ending with a promise of fast replies.

In the Korean comments

The two comments that stand out are jokes about Yang Jeongwon. One reads, in translation, "Yang Jeongwon is going to be horrified when he sees the title." Another reads, in translation, "I can hear Yang Jeongwon grabbing the back of his neck from all the way over here." Neither comment says what he would react to. The video's final captioned segment, though, shows Jeongwon practicing the 'Pop Off Pop Off' challenge and being surprised at the real performance speed. That is only a possible link, since the comments do not spell it out. A separate comment, in translation, says it is very charming to see the ENHYPEN member treat the ILLIT juniors in a friendly, caring way. This is one commenter's reaction to the Iroha segment.

What the words mean

"뒷목 잡다" (dwitmok japda) literally means "to grab the back of one's neck." In Korean it is a common exaggerated image for being shocked, exasperated or stunned. The comment about hearing him grab his neck "from all the way over here" is a joke, and it plays on that image. "기겁하다" (gigeophada) in the first comment means "to be startled or horrified." It is also used jokingly here. Both comments predict a comic overreaction from Jeongwon. They do not describe real distress.
