What happened

This is a short clip on aespa's official channel, tagged with Winter, "Saddle Up" and the SYNK: COMPLaeXITY tour name. The title ends with a goose emoji. The captions show lyric lines from the song, including "if I like your energy, then the rest is up to me."

In the Korean comments

The comments mostly talk about a goose that stays put. The top comment, in translation, asks why the goose doesn't fly away and just sits there so calmly. Another says it's funny that the goose stays still even when the camera gets close. That commenter adds that Jimin, who is afraid of birds, could never do this challenge. One commenter pictures Winter singing without a backing track and taking a two-shot with the goose. In translation: "Both of them are wearing sunglasses." The most inventive comment speaks in the goose's voice. In translation: the goose says "Stand up?" and refuses, because "it's autumn, honey!", and adds "My wife flew away, and the kids are all grown. See you in spring." "Stand up" echoes a line in the captions. The wife and kids in the joke may be a nod to 기러기 아빠 (girogi appa, "goose dad"), a Korean term for a father who stays behind while his family lives abroad. The comment does not say so itself.

What the words mean

The commenters call the bird 기러기 (giregi), which literally means a wild goose, the migratory kind. Because these geese fly off and come back, the word is also used in 기러기 아빠 (girogi appa, "goose dad"). That figurative sense is a plausible source of the "wife flew away" joke above. One comment says 저기요~ 주무시나요 (jeogiyo jumusinayo: excuse me and are you sleeping)? (jeogiyo~ jumusinayo?, "Excuse me, are you sleeping?"). It uses 주무시다 (jumusida), the honorific verb for sleeping, which is normally reserved for a respected elder or a stranger. Followed by laughter markers, it reads as a playful, deliberately polite tease.
