What happened

LE SSERAFIM's official channel posted a video titled "LA" (the title also carries a ballet-shoe emoji). The auto captions pick up the lines "We are alive," "We don't got to run away," and "The baddest in LA."

In the Korean comments

Two comments in this sample are about a man in the background rather than the members. One reads, in translation, "Kazuha is the best as always!!!!!! But the man behind her looks startled, haha." The original has "뒤에 아저씨 놀란듯ㅎㅎ" (dwie ajeossi nollandeut, "the man behind looks startled"). Another comment jokes that he'll probably 이불킥 (ibulkik) that evening after checking the man in the back. Neither comment says who the man is, and nothing supplied describes the scene, so this shows only what these commenters noticed. Another comment, in translation, says "I wondered who that was, and only figured it out at the end." Its 카즈하 (Kazuha) is a member's name. A different comment calls her "개그소녀" (gaegeu sonyeo, "comedy girl") and says she is pretty.

What the words mean

이불킥 (ibulkik) literally means "blanket kick." In practice it describes the urge to kick your blanket in bed when you suddenly remember something embarrassing. The commenter is jokingly predicting the man will feel that kind of embarrassment later that night. The tone is teasing and casual. 세젤멋 (sejaelmeot), in a comment that reads "진심 세젤멋" (jin-shim sejaelmeot, genuinely the coolest), is a shortened form of 세상에서 제일 멋있어 (the coolest in the world). It is casual fan slang for extreme praise.
