The theme of the 2025년 섬진강국제실험예술제 is “섬진강별곡［ 蟾津江別曲］”. A byeolgok is a story-rich song passed down among ordinary people, capturing the lives of its era and people through personal narratives. Reinterpreting this form for today, the festival expresses the lives and legends flowing along the Seomjin River through the language of art. With goblins laughing and toads dancing, around 100 artists from Korea and abroad will present beautiful melodies connecting nature and humanity, the past and future, and reality and imagination. The festival aims to become a space for healing, life, and harmony.
