What a student said after a study-room teacher kept them back to finish homework they hadn't done

Commenters piled on after a student reportedly threatened to report a study-room teacher who kept them late to finish homework.

I work at an academy too, and I've had a serious reality-check moment after seeing a student like that. This isn't just someone else's story...

Call the parentsWith a student like this, you need to talk to the parents right away and be blunt: "Your child said this, so from now on, I won't be keeping them at the academy to finish homework. Please make sure you manage this properly." Trying to hold on to one student will just shorten your life from stress.

Send them packingGive them a refund and tell them not to come back.

These days, students all say it's illegal if it's past 10 and threaten to report you haha. It's a super common thing to say T_T. Then tell them the teacher wants to go home too lmaoooo.

I actually had the same experience, and the moment the student started spewing that crap, I called the parents right there in front of all the other kids. ^^ "Hello~ [Student's name] is behind in their studies, so I was going to give them some extra help, but they're saying they're going to report me, so I think I need to send them home. For the time being, I don't think I'll be providing any extra lessons to address [Student's name]'s weak areas. I'm calling so you're aware."
