Illit speaks out on controversy over outfits sexualizing female police: “We’re grateful for any attention”
Asked a related question, Yunah replied, “First of all, we were really happy and also surprised by how much attention it got after we first unveiled it on tour. We think it’s something to be truly grateful for whenever people show interest in our performance, no matter what kind of attention it is.”

Like they would’ve asked the question that way to their faces. They probably just said it had been getting attention since before release... It’s getting both positive and negative attention right now, so isn’t that headline way too clickbaity?
At the showcase that day, there was also a question about the controversy over the concert outfits allegedly sexualizing female police officers. Illit had first performed their new song wearing outfits reminiscent of female police officers, including tight-fitting short skirts and hats. With even the female police mascot Posuni recently having her outfit changed from a skirt to pants, the stage outfits drew a flood of criticism for being regressive. Asked a related question, Yunah replied, “First of all, we were really happy and also surprised by how much attention it got after we first unveiled it on tour. We think it’s something to be truly grateful for whenever people show interest in our performance, no matter what kind of attention it is.” If you read the full article, it does seem like that’s what Yunah was responding to, so why would Yunah answer like that?
Like a reporter invited to an album-release showcase would really ask them point-blank, >>What do you think about the controversy over your concert outfits sexualizing female police officers?<<..... Nobody cares what question they were actually answering. People just think they’ve found an excuse and rush to tear them apart. I feel so damn bad for Illit...
