What happened

ATEEZ performed the Japanese-language version of their song "BAD" live on TBS's Japanese music program CDTV Live!Live!, in an episode that aired August 10.

One comment jokes that member San looks like he was "그림체 다르다" (geurimche dareuda, drawn in a different art style) from the rest of the group in this stage — as if he'd huff "why do I have to do this," then afterward undo his sleeve button and light a cigarette like a "보스" (boseu, boss). Several other comments zero in on San's 완깐 정장 (wan-kkan jeongjang, a hairstyle that fully bares the forehead, paired with a suit) look specifically. One commenter, reacting to that combination, writes, in translation, "this is my grave today" to say the look overwhelmed them. Another praises the same suited performance of "BAD," saying he really 말아주다 (marajuda, delivered it perfectly) — writing, in translation, "he really nailed 'BAD' in that suit, I love him."

What the words mean

완깐 (wan-kkan) isn't a standard word — it combines 완 (wan, "complete") with 깐 (kkan, hair styled back to expose the forehead), from 까다 (kkada, "to peel back"), to name a hairstyle that bares the whole forehead. The half-exposed version is called 반깐 (ban-kkan). Paired with a suit, fans call the combo 완깐 정장 (wan-kkan jeongjang) — casual fandom shorthand that only means something inside K-pop fan spaces. 말아주다 (marajuda) literally means "to roll something up for someone," from 말다 (malda, "to roll," as with a mat or gimbap) plus 주다 (juda, "to do for someone"). In fan comments it has nothing to do with rolling — it means to fully deliver or nail a song or concept, used here to praise the suited performance of "BAD." It's casual, enthusiastic fan praise, not literal usage.
