From 9.26.(금)~10.5.(일), Seoul will host the third over ten days around Bukchon, Seochon, and the open Songhyeon Green Plaza. 「서울한옥위크」 is a multicultural event offering exhibitions, lectures and tours, hands-on activities, performances, and events where visitors can experience Seoul’s hanok in many ways alongside hanok-related organizations, groups, and residents. Programs take place in the Bukchon and Seochon areas and at Seoul’s public hanok, with information available through the Seoul Hanok Portal and social media. This year, the event will expand through collaboration with 「북촌의 날」, a leading local festival in Bukchon, with around 90 related organizations and 50 facilities taking part. Unlike modern architecture, hanok is completed through its connection with outdoor spaces and maintains a close relationship with its courtyard and surrounding environment. To showcase this appeal, the theme of the exhibitions is 「정원」, accompanied by lectures, exhibitions, and book talks on gardens. A featured exhibition is 「정원의 언어들」, a hanok and garden themed exhibition held in hanok homes in Bukchon and Seochon.
