Held every October since 2016, 제주광어대축제 is Korea’s only festival dedicated to flounder. It promotes the quality of Jeju-farmed flounder and encourages wider consumption through affordable dishes such as sashimi, sushi, fish cake, tteokbokki, and savory pancakes. Visitors and local residents can also enjoy hands-on activities, including a singing contest, youth dance competition, children’s art contest, and catching flounder and flounder-like fish with bare hands.
