The 2026 National Heritage Media Art Cheorwon Labor Party Office is a nighttime cultural and artistic event that reinterprets the historical value and sense of place of the Cheorwon Labor Party Office and Cheorwon Historical and Cultural Park, which hold the history of the Korean War and division, through media art. The theme of the event is ‘Peace Emergency: From Memory to Empathy, Beyond Healing to the Future!’ and it expresses memories of the past through light and video, delivering messages of peace and healing. The event features media facades utilizing the exterior walls of the Labor Party Office, interactive media, AR experiences, light sculptures, AI media art, citizen participation content, and performances. A key program is the presentation of world-renowned media artist Jan Ngema's ‘Pro PACE: For Peace’ tailored to the historical context and significance of the Labor Party Office, along with programs that express the history and literature of Cheorwon and the stories of its citizens through media art and performances. The event will be closed on Tuesdays and on September 25, Chuseok, and will include cultural commentary docent tours, special performances, and experience programs.
