설악문화제 is Sokcho’s signature local cultural festival, continuing since the 1st Seorak Festival in 1966. Centered on Seoraksan, it brings together the region’s history and culture with the lives and stories of Sokcho’s people. Celebrating its 61st edition, this year’s theme is “설악, 함께 물들다”. The festival looks back on 60 years of tradition while moving forward as a place where citizens and visitors create new stories together. The historic ritual “설악소사(雪嶽小祀)” is reimagined with commentary and storytelling, making its meaning accessible to everyone.
