The 4th Chilgok Transmedia Festival is a cultural arts festival held throughout Waegwan-eup, Chilgok-gun. It combines local spaces and cultural resources with diverse media content, allowing visitors to experience them in new ways. This year, the festival explores the friendship between poet 구상 and painter 이중섭, presenting their lives and artistic worlds through literature, art, media, and performances. Rather than concentrating everything in one venue, it takes the form of a walking festival, inviting visitors to move through everyday spaces across Waegwan-eup and experience the programs along the way. Following designated routes and locations, participants encounter exhibitions, media content, hands-on activities, and performances in sequence, with each space and its content connected to create one cohesive festival experience. The festival transforms familiar local spaces into places for cultural and artistic discovery, reinterprets local resources and stories through new content, highlights the value of literature and art through the relationship and works of 구상 and 이중섭, and offers residents and visitors the chance to experience culture and art while walking through Waegwan.
