The 14th German Village Beer Festival is Namhae-gun's signature cultural and tourism festival, drawing inspiration from the exotic charm of German Village and the historical significance of the Gadeup experience. German Village was established by overseas Korean workers who returned after being dispatched to Germany in the 1960s–1970s as miners and nurses. The village preserves the legacy of Gadeup workers and celebrates the history of Korea-Germany cultural exchange. The festival channels the spirit of Oktoberfest, Germany's iconic beer festival, featuring diverse German cuisine, beer, music, parades, and experiential programs. By connecting Gadeup history and German Village identity with festival content, the event highlights the region's historical and cultural value, continuing to develop as a global cultural tourism festival enjoyed by domestic and international visitors alike.
