On a cool autumn evening, gentle lights descend over the waters of 포항운하. 낙화놀이 is a traditional Korean fireworks art in which charcoal powder is wrapped in hanji and slowly burned. Since it uses no gunpowder, it does not burst like firecrackers; instead, the lights gradually spread along 낙화 ropes stretched across the canal.
