*The festival details below are from last year (2025), and the 2026 details are currently being updated.* To commemorate the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage listing of Korea's jang-making culture and the 20th anniversary of the Jangryu Festival, this representative Korean fermented-food festival presents more than 50 programs in 8 fields, including hands-on programs using traditional jang, cultural performances, exhibitions, and sales, while strengthening its identity as the home of traditional jang and promoting the excellence of K-food to the world. Visitors can also taste spicy, deeply savory dishes made with Sunchang gochujang. In particular, special signature programs unique to the Sunchang Jangryu Festival, such as the performance Sunchang Gochujang Royal Procession, Fermentation Country 1997, and Let's Make Soybeans, Boil, Pound, and Make Meju, will be presented. This year, marking its 20th anniversary, diverse programs such as Find the Golden Meju and discount events for jang products under the theme You and I at Coming of Age will also be held.
