K-Drama Actor Announces Surprise Marriage To K-Pop Star
Actor Song Ji Ho and singer-actress Kim So Ri are getting married after dating for years.
On October 6, Song Ji Ho’s agency, Inyeon Entertainment, officially announced the actor’s upcoming marriage, revealing that his bride-to-be is a fellow celebrity.
“Our actor Song Ji Ho will tie the knot with a fellow celebrity and begin a beautiful life together as a married couple.”
The bride was subsequently revealed to be Kim So Ri. According to reports, the two have been in a long-term relationship, building trust in one another over the years before ultimately deciding to marry.
The couple is set to hold their wedding later this October.
Alongside the surprise announcement, beautiful wedding photos of the couple were also unveiled. The pictures showed Kim So Ri dressed in a wedding gown alongside a visibly happy Song Ji Ho, giving fans their first glimpse of the soon-to-be newlyweds.
Song Ji Ho made his acting debut through the 2013 film Friend: The Great Legacy and has since built a steady career through numerous dramas. He appeared in Doctor Cha before gaining further recognition through the massively popular tvN drama Lovely Runner.
In Lovely Runner, Song Ji Ho played Im Geum, the older brother of Kim Hye Yoon’s character Im Sol, becoming familiar to viewers for his memorable comedic performance.
His bride-to-be Kim So Ri debuted as a singer in 2016 and promoted as part of Real Girls Project (R.G.P.). She later appeared on programs including Somebody 2 and MIXNINE, as well as the drama The Idolmaster KR.
Kim So Ri has also expanded into acting. Most recently, she played Han Sol, a band vocalist, in the Korean-Indian Netflix film Made in Korea released this past March.
With the couple having kept their longtime romance largely away from the public eye, news that the two celebrities are now preparing to walk down the aisle has come as a pleasant surprise.
Meanwhile, Song Ji Ho is expected to continue his acting career following the marriage.
