“Freaky” New AI Boy Group Accused Of “Stealing” Numerous Idols Faces

Some netizens say muuo’s AI members resemble several real idols, while others criticize prioritizing AI over trainees and environmental concerns.

The idea of an AI or virtual group is not entirely new, as seen with the all-virtual group MAVE: and several members of the group SUPERKIND. However, these groups — both of which have disbanded — were obviously not real people, as seen in their design.

However, advances in technology have made way for a new AI group to debut with convincing visuals.

On October 14, Stone Music shared the pre-release single for the boy group muuo, a five membered boy group.

A video of the members introducing the track has since gone viral, with netizens weighing in on the group. Many have pointed out that the members each resemble several idols, including TXT, ENHYPEN, TWS’s Dohoon and Sungho, and ZEROBASEONE’s Sung Hanbin, among many others.
