I work in the department that answers hotel calls, and every employee, me included, has lost it and become cynical

A hotel phone staffer says constantly having to read guests' minds has left the entire team cynical and burned out.

Fair questions or exhausting questions?

Fair questions1 seems like a perfectly reasonable question to ask, though? Aren't you being way too cynical?

Exhausting questionsPeople who talk around what they mean like that are seriously irritating... If there's something you want, just say exactly what it is. Why make it even more emotionally draining?

I seriously relate so much. Every time, you're playing Family Arcade, a Korean guessing-game show, with people who don't even know what they want, until you start hating people and lose your mind. Then if you only give scripted answers like an AI, they go, “Why do you sound so stiff? What's with that tone?” You're expected to be all sweet and read their minds for them, and if you don't, they even get offended. That's what makes the whole damn thing complete.

I've worked at a call center for years, and it feels like it's getting worse lately. If you can't read their minds, they throw a f*cking fit. Maybe I've gotten more irritable? Seriously, I can practically see nightmare customers' logic in bold lol

I get it so much.... lol There are tons of people who don't even know what they're asking.... And if I choose something for them and they don't like it, way more people complain than you'd think... ^^.......
