Original video mentioning the birthday-café fan’s quitting-fandom post

A fan quit after Heo Young-saeng’s birthday-café visit, and some commenters say the full video makes the hurt easier to understand.

You can understand why the fan might’ve felt hurt. He’d been in Japan until the day before, had to get his injured hand dressed every day, and on his actual birthday he was so busy practicing and having meetings that he hadn’t even eaten, but still came because all he wanted was to see his fans. But like you said, it doesn’t really sound like he was trying to put the fan on the spot. Anyone weighing in should watch the video from that day first.

Everyone can decide for themselves,,

FYI, I haven’t watched the video yet either. Still stuck at work, posting in a rush

Of course I can see why that fan felt hurt, and I also think the singer had his own side of things. These days, plenty of fans openly think, “I spent this much money, so of course I should get this much back.” (Not talking about the fan in this incident.) If you’re the type to read meaning into every little action and get hurt by it, you probably shouldn’t stan idols, for your own sake. Anyway, if this singer had genuinely intended to ignore his fans, I doubt he would’ve rented out a café and held a fan meeting in the first place.

Honestly, from the written post alone, I thought the fan was being self-centered and overly dramatic. But in the video, aside from saying they kept asking him to come, when they asked him to put on an apron and look this way, he went, “I’ve been looking the whole time??” And when they asked him to pose, he said, “Come on, you’re even making me pose?” His whole tone puts the fan on the spot and makes things awkward.

He’s always been like that. The fan already knew what he was like, but wrote that they were finally exhausted and left the fandom. They didn’t quit just because he put them on the spot. He’s always been that kind of guy, and it finally became, “Ah, I’m tired of this,” and everything burst. Young-saeng really is consistent, I’ll give him that.
