What happened

In a BANGTANTV clip labeled “BTS Dinner 2.0,” V mishears “doing FESTA together” as “having a group brawl,” prompting SUGA to joke that the team does not seem particularly strong in combat.

Why Koreans care

The comedy is driven by Korean sound confusion: “FESTA” can blur into “패싸움” (paessaum, “group brawl”) in fast speech. The editors amplify the mistake with “FE싸움,” a visual hybrid of FESTA and 싸움, and with deadpan captions such as “Fact: they have never done it” and “A gathering of pacifists.” This caption-heavy teasing is characteristic of Korean idol variety editing, where on-screen text acts as a second comedic voice rather than merely transcribing dialogue.

In the Korean comments

Majority — Commenters primarily enjoy the comfort of seeing all seven casually laughing together: “Just seeing them gathered together, giggling and chatting, makes me happy.” Another writes, “Their laughter brings my soul back.” Minority — Several focus specifically on how contagious the mishearing becomes: “I honestly heard it correctly at first, but listening again here, it really sounds like ‘group brawl.’” Fandom — Viewers treat the brief exchange as evidence of the members’ familiar group chemistry and want more unedited material: “Honestly, I think they should give us the uncut version,” while another affectionately pairs “Taehyung hearing ‘group brawl’” with “Yoongi saying they don’t seem that strong in combat.”

What the words mean

“해본 적 없지만 오랜만임” literally means “It’s been a while, although we’ve never done it.” It is intentionally contradictory: V says a group brawl sounded like something they had not done “in a long time,” and the editors point out that BTS has never done one at all. “달방” is also fandom shorthand for “달려라 방탄” (“Run BTS”), not a separate program or concept.
