2026 직지문화축제 is a festival that brings the value of '직지', listed on UNESCO’s Memory of the World, to a wider audience and gives new focus to the meaning of 직지 as a symbol of innovation in printing technology and knowledge sharing. Under the theme '직지, 시간의 문을 열다', it is designed so that citizens and visitors can share in the historical and cultural significance of '직지' together on September 4, the inscription date of '직지'. Through exhibitions, hands-on activities, performances, and lectures that anyone can see, enjoy, and stay for, the festival makes 직지 easier and more engaging to discover while offering the living value of record culture through time.
