The Semiwon Lotus Culture Festival is a prominent autumn garden culture festival held at Semiwon, located in Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do. Semiwon is a garden of water and flowers surrounded by the Paldang Lake, featuring traditional Eastern garden styles and a variety of aquatic plants, recognized as Gyeonggi-do's first local garden. The festival centers around the lotus, Semiwon's representative aquatic plant, offering unique autumn garden attractions. Visitors can enjoy a diverse array of lotuses, including the Victoria lotus, known as the 'queen of flowers', exotic Australian lotuses, and colorful tropical lotuses, creating a distinctive garden landscape. Guests can admire the beauty of lotuses blooming on the water's surface while enjoying a leisurely retreat in the city. Notably, it will showcase enriched garden culture content as the host of the 2026 Gyeonggi Garden Culture Expo. The Semiwon area is steeped in history, being the site of the Baedari of Jeong Yak-yong, a practical scholar from the late Joseon period, and features various facilities such as the Lotus Museum, Jangdokdae Fountain, Sehanjeong, and Baedari, serving as a complex cultural space where nature, ecology, and cultural arts converge, as well as a year-round garden tourism destination.
