진주남강유등축제

Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival began with the custom of floating lanterns on the Namgang River during the Battle of Jinju Fortress in the Imjin War, both to prevent the Japanese army from crossing the river and to send news to family. Designated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as one of Korea's representative festivals, it has also been selected for 5 consecutive years as a Korea Global Cultivation Festival, a premier festival now expanding overseas.
