Started in 1997 as the World Madangguk Grand Festival, the Gwacheon Performing Arts Festival is Korea's first street theater festival. Every September, it is held with high-quality performances centered on outdoor theater and street theater from Korea and abroad, offering rich things to see throughout the festival period as a testing ground for artists from home and overseas.
