The incident currently causing controversy in the theater and musical scene

A mistaken duplicate theater ticket transfer has split fans over whether a replacement seat still warrants a full refund.

A quick rundown for anyone who can't be bothered to check X: A transferred a ticket to B, but accidentally transferred a ticket that had already been transferred to someone else. B only found out after going to the ticket booth.

After realizing what had happened, A apologized to B and gave B a center seat in the same row for the same performance that A already had. B watched the performance with that ticket.

But although B did see the performance with the replacement ticket, B was extremely anxious because this happened right before the show and couldn't focus on the performance. So regardless of receiving a new ticket, B demanded a full refund. They couldn't reach an agreement afterward, so they posted online to hear what other people thought.

People are split between those who think a full refund is fair because B was made anxious right before entering on the day of the performance and couldn't watch from the originally transferred seat even though B received a replacement ticket / and those who think a full refund is excessive because it was a mistake, center seats are generally considered better when they're in the same row, and B didn't watch from a lower-tier seat.

+ People are asking if opinions are really divided, but there genuinely are quite a few people in the theater and musical community who say a full refund is right because a precedent is needed to prevent duplicate ticket transfers and make people take the issue seriously. There are actually a lot of them.
