Lee Kang-in interview video gets over 8000 hate comments over bizarre subtitles

Reporter:

Son Heung-min just set a huge record.

He scored the most goals, so

would it be fair to call Son Heung-min the greatest player in Korean football history?

The reporter is asking who the greatest Korean player is.

But in the subtitles,

[Would it be fair to call Son Heung-min the greatest player in Korean football history?]

they leave this part out and put in something completely different.

And from Lee Kang-in’s perspective, being asked to choose one of his seniors could be an uncomfortable question.

Because of the bizarre subtitles and because Lee Kang-in didn’t pick Son Heung-min as the greatest player, comments claiming Lee Kang-in wasn’t congratulating him got mixed in with hate comments, pushing the total past 8000.

Son Heung-min fans are seriously so toxic and over-the-top, lmaooo. Mix the blind babying from idol fandoms with overblown nationalism and you get this absolute nightmare mash-up. If something like this causes such a huge mess, then yeah, it’s fair to say Son Heung-min lacks leadership too, but somehow only the junior players get treated like traitors, lmaooo.

Didn’t Lee Kang-in’s agency say they were suing? Why are they flocking to garbage YouTube channels that make stuff up and leaving hate comments? Aren’t they embarrassed? -_- lol. With legendary seniors like Cha Bum-kun and Park Ji-sung, Lee Kang-in would get hate no matter which Korean player he picked, and he gave a smart answer to a stupid question. Son Heung-min fans seem desperate to tear down junior players. They leave hate comments on every junior player’s YouTube and Instagram accounts and demand apology statements over the slightest interaction with Son Heung-min. Seriously, avoiding any involvement with them seems like the best move.

They say fans create haters, and seriously, what is wrong with Son Heung-min fans? They go after every rising player because they’re scared the juniors might become more popular than Son. They’re making complete fools of themselves.
