Stray Kids' Sweet and Sour Busan Adventure

What happened

In this Korea Tourism Organization-supported Busan clip, the members jokingly replace “allok-dallok” (“colorful”) with Bang Chan’s description “saekom-dalkom” (“sweet and sour”).

Why Koreans care

The humor comes from deliberately crossing Korean sensory vocabulary: “saekom-dalkom” normally describes flavor, while “allok-dallok” describes a colorful appearance. Declaring that “allok-dallok no longer exists” turns Bang Chan’s odd word choice into a temporary group rule. The production-support credit also identifies this as idol-led tourism promotion, not merely casual travel footage.

Majority — Commenters dwell on the members’ visible enjoyment and the scenery: “I loved seeing Lee Know and Bang Chan so excited,” and “The sweet-and-sour scenery is pretty.” Fandom — Fans accept Bang Chan’s linguistic joke because he said it: “If Channie says it’s ‘sweet and sour,’ then we’ll call it ‘sweet and sour.’ It somehow fits, too.” Minority — Some responses are broad emotional declarations rather than reactions to the joke: “Stray Kids saved my life.”

What the words mean

“Saekom-dalkom” is not established Korean slang for colorful scenery. The members know it is the wrong sensory adjective and escalate the mistake for comedy; the commenter calling the scenery “sweet and sour” is participating in that newly created in-group joke.
