What happened

This is the official music video for &TEAM's "Good Boy," released under HYBE's YX LABELS, directed by Beomjin for VM Project.

Why Koreans care

The lyrics build the whole song around a wild-animal-versus-tamed-pet metaphor that the English title "Good Boy" only hints at. The narrator calls himself "난 거친 늑대" (nan geochin neukdae, "I am a rough wolf") and "Always I move like a beast," but is repeatedly told "Be a good boy" while lines describe a "목줄" (mokjul, leash) being pulled tight and the narrator being "길들여진" (gildeuryeojin, "tamed/domesticated"). He even switches to dog behavior — "꼬리를 Swing" (kkorireul swing, "wagging my tail") and "Like a puppy." So "Good Boy" in the chorus isn't simple praise; it's the command a dominant party gives while the narrator swings between a wolf who refuses to be tamed and a puppy who wants to be.

In the Korean comments

One commenter borrows the song's own title to greet the group: "내 굿보이들 여기 다 모였네" (gut-boideul moyeotne, my good boys gathered) — in translation, "my good boys are all gathered here" — turning the English chorus phrase into an affectionate nickname for the members themselves, outside the wolf/leash story the lyrics tell. What the words mean

"Good Boy" reads in English as straightforward praise for someone well-behaved. In this song it's used as a command repeated inside a taming narrative — "Be a good boy" is said to a narrator who calls himself a wolf and a beast, while a leash tightens around him. The phrase functions less as approval and more as a demand for submission that the narrator keeps resisting and giving in to by turns; the tone is exaggerated and playful rather than literal.
