With the theme of 'a new race of culture,' 700m of Janghan-ro transforms into a car-free arts and culture street for one day. Performances, hands-on activities, and citizen-participation programs take place throughout Janghan-ro, reimagining the road itself as a festival space. Drawing on the history of Janghan-ro, from Janghanpyeong, where royal horses ran in the Joseon period, to the center of Korea's modern automobile industry, the festival presents a new race that moves from 'horses' to 'cars' to 'culture.' This year especially, it goes beyond watching performances and strengthens participatory programs where citizens become the main stars of the festival. With a distinctive roller rink and 'My Car Becomes a Store' using citizens' vehicles, the entire road becomes one giant festival ground.
