Peru, which got three concert dates in the ARIRANG World Tour, has been nothing short of a controversial stop for the group. While the concerts have been an amazing experience for fans, the constant overcrowding outside of BTS’s hotel and invasion of privacy have been pain points for both the artists and fans. While RM tried to call it out through a Weverse post, it backfired a little when many fans saw it as a specific jab against South American fans.
On October 10, KST, BTS performed the third and last of this tour’s Peru concerts, and during the show, J-Hope made a remark in Spanish, saying Peru is the country that likes BTS the most.
While J-Hope’s acknowledgment was a touching moment for Peruvian fans, it also sparked a wave of skeptical comments. Many fans claimed that the comment was not genuine, and the BTS member probably felt obligated to say it as a form of damage control.

Meanwhile, during the second day of the ARIRANG concert in Peru, RM took a moment to address serious allegations of xenophobia against him, sparking heated debates.
