[Exclusive] Lee Ji-eun and Byeon Woo-seok’s Perfect Crown ‘pocketed’ KOCCA funding... there weren’t even any standards for historical distortion

The debate is over Perfect Crown receiving KOCCA support when the agency had no standard for historical-distortion controversies.

There was no separate standard for factoring controversies over historical distortion into the evaluation. KOCCA’s position is that since this program is meant to help fund productions, it’s difficult to directly penalize issues involving a work’s distribution or broadcast. There is still no standard for imposing penalties over such controversies. In practice, that means the screening mechanism was basically nonexistent.

But why is a production company that can afford to cast huge stars like that collecting grant money too?

If KOCCA can’t even screen out treasonous crap like that before handing out funding, is it really an agency needed to promote content? What’s the point of it existing? It can’t even recover the money—it’s incompetent and stupid.

That production company is seriously thrifty. Taking every last bit of funding and still making it like that is legendary.
