What happened

Why Koreans care

The title’s “5–sun–1” is a rebus for 월간 오해원 (Wolgan O Haewon, Monthly Oh Haewon): five supplies the Korean sound “o,” the sun is “hae,” and English “one” sounds like “won,” spelling Haewon’s name.

In the Korean comments

After someone asks where “your wife Lily” is, Haewon worries aloud that she has recently been calling Lily by name instead of “Lily unnie.” One comment reads, in translation, “Haewon is more bothered by the informal address than by ‘wife Lily’,” pinpointing the joke at 6:42.

What the words mean

카우룽카우룽 (kaurung kaurung) is not presented as a standard word with a literal dictionary meaning. Haewon defines the deliberately distorted catchphrase as “I guess autumn really is autumn”; its register is playful and casual.
